Tarriona 'Tank' Ball is a poet, writer, singer, and all around performer who never fails to stop the show. Her music is infused with the many and varied art forms that have brought her inspiration. What she would call "random", others would call dynamic. And with a voice that would make Aretha Franklin look twice, this dynamism captivates anyone within hearing range. She is beauty, grace, talent, and power all wrapped in a 5'1" package.Tank's journey to self-expression began in her grandfather’s church, singing and reciting poetry from an early age. By the time she was 11, she had already written several books and three magazines. But her music always found its way into her poetry. In December 2010, Tank released her first solo album, RandoMe, a testament to her eclectic style. Transcending form and genre, RandoMe includes singing, scatting, poetry, and rapping over Soul, Jazz, Rock, and just about anything else her mind can conjure. When it comes down to boxes, Tank checks them all. The BlackStar Bangas, started by Amari 'Skinny Hendrix' Johnson and Jarred 'Nation' Savwoir, offer an adept mixture of quality musicianship and meaningful lyricism in pursuit of soul music with a message. They proudly carry on a strong legacy of Black artistry with a soulful stage show that never fails to move the crowd. In the Summer of 2011, The Bangas and Tarriona 'Tank' Ball joined the Liberated Soul Collective's Soulful B.E.S.T. Tour, perfoming shows in Gulfport, Mobile, Houston, Austin, New York and Philadelphia. They are currently working on Tank's second album "Think Tank!!" to be released in 2012.
