A performance constructed around rare, archival audio of iconic master of Jazz, Danny Barker “Afro-American Music: 101 – A course in Jazz” improvises music as a multi-dimensional sonic framework around and within audio excerpts of Barker conducting an actual course in Black Music History at Xavier University in the mid-1970's. The tabula rasa is the anatomy of Jazz itself; and the colors are the bold and daring ideas of Mr. Barker – which are also represented in his written words recreated by Esquizito.
