October 28 at 9:30 PM

You are invited to a costume party to celebrate the release of Aural Elixir's 5th CD, "Partially Domesticated Amazon: Exposed!" Aural Elixir will feature Lynn Drury, Alex McMurray, Johnny Vidacovich, Andrew Wolf, special guest- Colorado based violinist Jane Uitti & the original Aural Elixir girrrl, Jesse Maclaine. There will be Free Snacks from Fatoush Restaurant & Coffee House as well as prizes for the best costumes. The top three costume contest winners will enjoy gift certificates for Fatoush, NOLA Food Co Op or the Louisiana Music Factory. The party theme is Myths & Ancient Cultures, so if you have always wanted to wear a toga to a party, this is your chance! Come join the celebration even if you don't have a costume, there's plenty of room on the dance floor for you & your friends. It's going to be a fun night full of great music! Suggested donation is $5, but everyone is welcome even if all you have is a smile. :)

The music of Aural Elixir is a rock-folk-jazz fusion from Jesse Maclaine (singer, pianist, composer) and the rich sonic textures of New Orleans.  While Aural Elixir's style is clearly influenced by classical training and jazz sensibilities, Jesse has created a unique sound that is upbeat, wonderfully quirky, intelligent and engaging. Often compared to Joni Mitchell, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos and Carole King, Aural Elixir delights listeners with innovative, eclectic mixtures of originals & cover songs from the 60's to the present.
